Homestretch!

I'm down to single digits - will be home soon!
The girls and I went to the beach for 3 days straight now - we're so tan that Frick thinks the only way Daddy will know who we are is because we'll be with Duckie!

We also went to visit my 93yo Godmother. She's my Dad's aunt, and since his father is 97 - I'm thinking they'll be around for some time.

Jan went and got that high-tech 4D ultrasound today.
It's way too cool. It had just come out when I was pregnant with Frack, but was not really available.
We spent the afternoon marveling at the great pictures. I'll try to get one posted - if she lets me!

Wednesday, June 20

Greetings

from way too hot and sunny Florida. I really don't understand how people can live here all year long!

I got to go to a yarn shop on Saturday. There was no wool to speak of - kinda weirded me out!
They also had the shop set up by color. I really don't like it that way, makes it harder to find the sock yarn.

I'm also making progress on my double sock. I'm up to the heel turn, and am getting scared. Chicken that I am, I cast on another single sock so I can switch whenever I want to.

I'll have plenty of pictures when I get home.

Mistress Jan is calling - I must run...

For Holly

I want to knit socks.
Mom has hidden my needles.
Where are the toothpicks?

Saturday, June 9

It's great to have friends!

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I'm also gald I can still make ya'll laugh when I'm not around!

I'm still being worked to death by my sister. We have 2 more cakes to deliver for today. I'd post pictures, but i'm not sure how to transfer them on to this computer.

The dr visit on Wednesday confirmed that

It'a a boy!

She's doing better, but it's been a very complicated pregnancy so far, and doesn't seem to be getting any better. For that, I'm happy I'm here with her.

As Frick reminded me last night - we have 2 more weeks to go...
It's visits like these that make me happy my parents live in a different state. I just feel bad that my sister has to deal with them daily.

I told her to leave Florida!!!

Thursday, June 7

You thought I was kidding, didn’t you?

So far, I have been lectured about:
the way I raise my children,
the way I dress
having a glass of wine (in front of said children)
the way I dress my children
how strict I am with my children
how lenient I am with my children (there is no happy medium)
not calling my husband enough
talking on the phone for too long with my husband
and
shopping.

With 26 days to go, you’d think that they would pace themselves...

Sunday, June 3

One down

I was up and decorating a cake yesterday by 10am.
I'll post a pic later.

They let me have a break, so we're off to the pool and to visit family today.
I'm hoping to sneak a trip into the LYS sometime this week...

Friday, June 1

Wish me luck.

Because I'm paranoid, I've been checking daily for the past week, and already spent the last 1/2 hour on the site this morning.
Here's the latest from TSA:

Transporting Knitting Needles & Needlepoint

Knitting needles are permitted in your carry-on baggage or checked baggage. However, there is a possibility that the needles can be perceived as a possible weapon by one of our Security Officers. Our Security Officers have the authority to determine if an item could be used as a weapon and may not allow said item to pass through security. We recommend the following when bring knitting needles on an airplane:

Circular knitting needles are recommended to be less than 31 inches in total length

We recommend that the needles be made of bamboo or plastic (Not Metal)

Scissors must have blunt points

In case a Security Officer does not allow your knitting tools through security it is recommended that you carry a self addressed envelope so that you can mail your tools back to yourself as opposed to surrendering them at the security check point.

As a precautionary measure we recommend that you carry a crochet hook with yarn to save the work you have already done in case your knitting tools are surrendered at the checkpoint

Most of the items needed to pursue a Needlepoint project are permitted in your carry-on baggage or checked baggage with the exception of circular thread cutters or any cutter with a blade contained inside. These items cannot be taken through a security checkpoint. They must go in your checked baggage.

I love the precautionary measure point. Makes me wonder who they pissed off!
